Moving a CAD model into a new reference system means to change the internal coordinate system of the model from the one decided by the Cad designed, into a new one which suit the need of the inspection.
Even if it is possible and easier to create a reference system as per the Cad model and then change the coordinate system in ARCO after the synchronization, in certain case, it is preferred to change directly the model internal reference system.

The procedure the change a reference system is as follow:

  1. Import the CAD file
  2. Make sure that the current reference system is MAC
  3. Make sure model in synchronized to machine reference system
  4. Click on dify - Transformation to open the transformation dialog

Make sure the model is rotated as expected regardless the origin  In order to rotate a model, if necessary, you should:  Select the Rotation about the axis we you want to rotate from the list  Type the angle for rotation  Consider that you are moving the model and not the reference system!  Click append  Click Apply  Confirm that you want to move the whole model  If the rotation is not the expected rotate back by the value at point b or type another angle (normally 180, if we rotate wrongly we are just in the wrong side....) and retry  Make sure that the origin is where you need  In order to move the model to a new origin, you should  Select the Translation from the list  Type the value for each axis to be moved (better try one axis at the time!)  Consider that you are moving the model and not the reference system!  Click append  Click Apply  Confirm that you want to move the whole model  If the Translation is not the expected Translation back by the value at point b and retry  When finish press CLOSE   Save the project  Load a probe if not done yet  Open the Point Feature and click the walls of the model where the datums are supposed to be, so you can double check that the transformation done were correct.  Use the PIERCE POINT technique to make sure the datums are correct
