Managing Users

The dialog window "ARCO users manager" permits the configuration of the users authorized to use the software ARCO and their privileges. Besides, for each user, it is possible to define the location of the directory containing personal files and the directory containing measure reports.


NOTE

The users who can be configured in ARCO are only those already defined for the operating system of the personal computer in use. <br />
Therefore, it is possible to add a user in ARCO only if he has already been defined as user of the personal computer.

When settings have been completed, click on OK to confirm or on Cancel to cancel the operation.
The window is composed by three sections:

  • System: where it is possible to modify the settings of the system administrator user; it is not possible to add any user in this section, only one system administrator is allowed
  • Programmer: where it is possible to add, remove system programmer users and modify their settings
  • Operator: where it is possible to add, remove system operator users and modify their settings


The system administrator accesses all the functions of the software ARCO and he is the only one enabled to configure other users of ARCO .
The system programmer accesses all the functions of the software ARCO . In general, the programmer creates new Part Programs both in self-learning and in manual mode (writing directly the DMIS commands in the Part Program).
The system operator accesses only the basic functions of the software ARCO . In general, the operator executes the Part Programs created by the programmer.


NOTE

The system administrator coincides with the system account used for the installation of Arco. It is not possible to modify the user with system privilege. 


In each section the table lists the configured users.
In the column User it is written the name defined for the user, in Description the comment associated to the user.
Selecting a user (clicking on the corresponding line in the table) in the square Personal folders the defined folders for the users are reported.

To add a user

  1. Click on the button New to open the window Add user.
  2. Open the list User and select the name of the user you want to add.NB: the list includes all the users defined in the operating system of the personal computer.
  3. In User folder type in the path of the user personal folder (where Part Programs will be saved or searched), alternatively press the button Page through to select it among those existing on disk.
  4. In Reports folder type in the path of the user reports folder (where reports will be saved or searched), alternatively press the button Page through to select it among those existing on disk.
  5. Verify that the combined box Configuration folder contains the name of the desired system configuration folder.
  6. In Comment type in the comment associated to the user.
  7. Click on OK to add the new user or on Cancelto cancel the configuration.


To modify the settings of a user

  1. Click on the button Modify to open the window Modify user.
  2. In User folder modify the path of the user's personal folder (where Part Program will be saved or searched), alternatively press the button Page through to select it among those existing on disk.
  3. In Reports folder modify the path of the user's reports folder (where reports will be saved or searched), alternatively press the button Page through to select it among those existing on disk.
  4. Verify that the combined box Configuration folder contains the name of the desired system configuration folder.
  5. In Comment modify the comment associated to the user.
  6. Click on OK to make changes in the selected user or on Cancel to cancel the changes you have made.


To remove a user

  1. Select the user clicking on the corresponding line in the table.
  2. Click on Delete.

The confirmation is requested.
