Hardware Interface

FARO ARM USB Series. Version 2.6 can be used directly on FARO ARM with

connection through USB port. Serial port connection will be available in the next

version

DOUBLE POINT CONNECTION. With old CMM the connection with ARCO can be

done now throw serial line transmission, in this way the old Hardware can still be

used while ARCO does all the calculation.

Language

French Language. Now ARCO can be used with French user interface.

Russian Language. Now ARCO can be used with Russian user interface.

Software Improvements

RPS Calculation: The RPS calculation has been improved by managing some specific

situation where ARCO was providing the alternative solution not expected.

SHEET METAL THICKNESS in Best Fit: Now ARCO can handle the sheet metal

thickness when RPS or BEST FIT alignment is used.

FOLDED EDGES in Best Fit: During the Best Fit and RPS procedure all the edges can

be used. Folded edges have been added.

COLORED INDICATION during Manual Inspection: While Measuring surface now

ARCO provide a real time colored representation of the value according the

tolerance

PICKED POINTS during TEACH CAD: While performing a TEACH CAD inspection all

the probed points are represented allowing a better distribution them on the

surface.

POINTS COMPENSATION after Best Fit: All the non-aligned point used for Best Fit or

RPS procedure are now compensated after the synchronization.

POINT TO POINT Scanning: From version 3.74 of CC3-2 Ethernet firmware, P3M

CONFIG 2.2 and ARCO 2.6, point to point scanning is available

ENHANCED THERMAL COMPENSATION: From version 3.73 of CC3-2 firmware, P3M

CONFIG 2.2 and ARCO 2.6 ARCO can handle up to eight configurable probes for real

time linear compensation.

EDGE DEVIATION visualization: While measuring EDGES the Real Time deviation is

now shown and managed by a timer.

PLANE – TWO POINTS Alignment: A specific procedure for PLANE-2 POINTS

alignment is now available.

DATA BASE Viewer: Now the last measured element is always shown in the viewer

DELETE FEATURES: From the data viewer is now available the multiple section and

possibility to delete more than one feature at the time.

CAD – VIEWER Synchronization: Now CAD area and viewer are synchronized. The

selection can be done in either place.

EXPORT IGES: Now all the entities can be saved in IGES format and exported to a

CAD system.

MIRROR: ARCO enhance now a specific utility to create symmetrical part programs.

GRAPHICAL REPORTS: Now the graphical reports are improved with a new table and

a better organization of the callouts to reduce the number of pages used in the

reports.

DISTANCE IN GRAPHICAL REPORTS: Now linear and angular distances can be shown

in graphical reports.

OFFSET ON POINTS: Besides SURFACE, now ARCO have the possibility to apply sheet

metal offset on feature POINT and EDGES.

ANGLE REPRESENTATION: The entire user interface can handle now angles in

Degree Minutes and Second.

INCHES: All the system can now properly handle inches in his calculation.

MEASURE OF A SLOT: Now ARCO can calculate slot with two algorithms, the

standard one and the one based on point over two arch of the slot.

STATISTICAL PACKAGE: Now ARCO can do Statistical Analysis of the data providing

information and chart of CP, CPk, X-R, Distribution, Pareto plus specific chart for

automotive. (Optional Package)

PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT: The system is now better optimised in matter of

performance. Specifically: import IGES, Initialisation and graphical resource

consumption has been improved.

RPS Alignment: RPS Alignment is now available also if no CAD model is used.

RPS Alignment: Loop functionality has been added in RPS alignment.

GD&T Improvement: New datum Reference Frame is now available in GD&T

tolerances.

POLAR to CARTESIAN conversion: Features measured in Polar mode can now be

sent to output in Cartesian mode and vice-versa.

CURVE Reconstruction: After measuring an unknown profile, ARCO can build curve

with three methods, interpolation, approximation, arch and segments.

Curve Measurement: ARCO can now make comparison with nominal CAD profiles.

Specific tools for best fit with constraint make possible the analysis of the curve.

Sign of the Deviation: The positioning deviation of elements can be now shown in

the reports with two concepts: symmetrical (ACT-NOM)*SGN(NOM) or real (ACTNOM)

AUTOSAVE: A timers now automatically save the DMI.

REVERSE ENGINNERING: ARCO now includes the optional module to rebuild

surfaces with a point-to-point measurement. The patches are guaranteed with

continuity of profile, tangent and can be properly compensated of the ruby ball. All

the results can be exported in IGES.

CURVE with CATIA native files: Now the curves are imported in the native CATIA V4

files.

Implementation on CNC machines

ARKEY: The volume of the ARKEY can be set in the control panel.

ARCO DNC: ARCO DNC is a specific module to run program selecting the part to be

measure only by clicking the image. Now program is shown avoiding the possibility

of modification.

MANUAL MEASURING SPEED management: From version 3.74 of CC3-2 Ethernet

firmware, P3M CONFIG 2.2 and ARCO 2.6 while in manual mode ARCO enhance two

possibilities of measuring speed, proportionally handled with joystick or constant

speed in 4 rates

DEAD MAN timer: From version 3.74 of CC3-2 Ethernet firmware, P3M CONFIG 2.2

and ARCO 2.6 the DEAD MAN device can be handle with two options: always

available or released upon time out.

Clear Surface: The SAFETY PLANE is now more powerful; with two new parameter it

is possible now to avoid collision during the inspection without using GOTO.

Firmware

set up of P3M CONFIG Version 2.2 or higher.
